RIch Kim
Rich Kim comes from the East Bay in northern California where he studied Art History and Asian American Studies at UCLA. Involved with various Asian American arts organizations in the Bay Area, such as NAATA and Kearny Street Workshop, he received an apprenticeship at KPFA, a Berkeley based grassroots radio station. There he developed his skills and found a love for sound and technology. He moved to New York City in 2002 and began working a job at an international radio and television show Democracy Now! Involved with many progressive organizations, he became involved with his first love, music. He has been working at a recording studio at the Manhattan School of Music recording classical and jazz recordings. In the fall of 2006 he was awarded a position as a residency at the Banff Centre in Alberta Canada. Currently he works as a freelance audio engineer ranging from live sound, sound design for theater, recording, and editing.
